Special Needs
With a long history of working with seniors and people with special needs, combined with her education in interior design and fine arts, Leslie Markman-Stern offers a holistic approach to creating a safe environment that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
We offer a Home Safety/Accessibility Assessment that aims to help older adults live independently and safely at home. For a set fee, the hour-long assessment provides a thorough review of indoor and exterior spaces, and incorporates the requirements of Universal Design, the American Disability Act and the individual needs of each client. Accommodations are also made for current or anticipated needs (i.e. grab bars, walkers, wheelchairs). Recommendations range from inexpensive safety adjustments to major construction changes, with optional follow-up consultations available.
